projects.

Each year I compile a page full of my favourite projects I’ve completed. I usually class a project as something that has had weeks of time & preparation, sprinkled with a bucket load of passion.

Miss Kick Euro’s Campaign

In preparation for the Women’s Euro Championship, I worked with Miss Kick for their Euros branded product launch. Miss Kick are an amazing all-female owned business, they pride themselves on helping to bring equality and inclusivity to women’s football. Miss Kick’s football kits and clothing are designed for “her” body; “her” performance. As part of their launch campaign, Miss Kick screened their ad on the 2nd largest digital billboard in Europe, next to Victoria Warehouse in Manchester. It’s fair to say this was one of my proudest moments this year especially as a solo freelancer, and I’m so proud to have worked with such amazing women from Miss Kick.

Echoes Magazine - Mica Millar

Your ear’s haven’t been blessed until you hear the incredible Mica Millar sing right in front of you. Mica is a Soul music artist from Manchester but is quickly conquering the UK. Having worked with Mica a few times before, she wanted me to collaborate with her and her team for her front cover feature on Echoes Magazine. Echoes has expanded and featured multiple incredible artists on their covers such as Mary J Blige, Gregory Porter, Ne-Yo and so many more. The brief from Mica is that wanted the look of natural sunlight shadows casted onto the image, created through nature/trees etc. However, living in gloomy Manchester we don’t usually have gorgeous sunlight readily available - so of course we improvised.

Here’s a little breakdown of the process; we shot in a controlled studio, then using a strobe we casted the light onto some faux plants and flowers that we rigged onto a stand. If we added more strobes to light Mica’s face this faded out the shadows, so I added 2 large bounce boards surrounding her. This enabled me to softly light Mica creating that natural light glow, whilst still keeping the intensity of the shadows. It’s fair to say I was thrown right out comfort zone, and I’m so happy to say it paid off!

She now uses these photos for her press articles and marketing material such as her tour poster, CDs & vinyls. (I even had the honour of watching people purchase my vinyls at The Royal Albert Hall where she supported Gregory Porter.)

Why I Love This Game

“Why I Love This Game” is a documentary I worked on for The R&A, which is one of the biggest governing bodies of worldwide golf. For this project I worked alongside a production company - as they produced the film documentary, I was producing the campaign photos. The WILTG campaign is about showcasing the diversity within the R&A and uncovering the stories of the prolific figures within the movement of making golfing a more diverse sport. Reaching out to the youth of today and inspiring the next generation of Diverse golfers. The first 3 members we covered were Zane Scotland, Ray and the British Black Golfers Association, Amir and the Muslim Golfers Association. This campaign is still ongoing and we have many more stories to tell throughout 2022.

Signathon

Signathon is an online live stream event where famous athletes sign their own memorabilia, do a live Q&A, and get to speak to fans 1-on-1 on video call. With each event the client needs press photos, memorabilia photos and behind the scenes photos producing. The events are done remotely with Signathon’s team, so there’s only usually about 3-4 of us in the room. This creates an amazing environment where I get to really engage with the athlete and build a personal relationship, so the press shots flow a lot easier and are more relaxed. As it turns out although they’re used to being on TV, they’re not so comfortable in front of the camera! This project is still ongoing, but the Signathon events I have done for far include; Cesar Azpilicueta, Andy Robertson, Jimmy Floyd-Hasslebaink and Ledley King. Each of these have been included in multiple online and printed articles from The Sun, The Mirror, Daily Express etc. My favourite one being the double page printed spread in The Sun of Azpilicueta!

Real Housewives of Cheshire

For this project my clients at Daflo Jets were featured in an episode of ITVBe’s Real Housewives Of Cheshire. During a portion of the filming, my role was to come in an do a short campaign shoot. My aim was to give off the impression of luxury and glamour, but in a clean, sophisticated way. The ladies Tanya and Lystra were also very fun and outgoing so I made sure to capture their personalities within the campaign. Although the RHOC was my most recent project with Daflo Jets, I have also done previous campaigns for them with ex England footballer Emile Heskey, and entrepreneur Oscar Duke - which was also featured in HP London Magazine.
